Introduction

Ministry of Health and Population (MoHP) is the apex body of Government of Nepal (GoN) on health sector. Ministry of Health and Population (MoHP) as a lead agency has been working on to improve the health of the people including mental, physical and social well being, for overall national development with the increased participation of the private sector and non-government institutions in the implementation of programs. The Ministry of Health and Population (MoHP) has been implementing its activities through different divisions and sections. The work related to climate change, air quality, WASH, health care waste, chemical safety and other related environmental health activities are being performed through “Multi-sector Coordination Section” under Health Coordination Division of Ministry of Health and Population.

Climate Change and Health web portal is developed under Multi-sector Coordination Section, Health Coordination Division, Ministry of Health and Population. The fund to develop Climate Change and Health web portal is provided by Global Environment Facility (GEF) project on “Building Resilience of Health Systems in Asian Least Developed Countries to Climate Change”. Multi-sector Coordination section is responsible for the overall operation of this Climate Change and Health web portal.

Climate Change and Health web portal is developed to provide a gate way to access information as well as search, analytical and communication center for the target users. The main objective of developing this web portal is to collect information on climate change and health issues from different sources and create an information hub. The information includes relevant policies, regulations, legal documents, guidelines, plans, official publication, reports, press release, events updates and related materials!
